Description:FED Group is a feature-rich e-commerce website built on WordPress and WooCommerce, offering a seamless subscription-based meal delivery service. As the lead developer, I focused on creating a user-friendly and efficient platform that simplifies the process of selecting, subscribing, and managing meal plans.
One of the key customizations I implemented is a bespoke plugin that extensively modifies the WooCommerce Subscriptions functionality. This custom plugin enhances the subscription management system, allowing users to easily select their desired meal plans, skip weeks, or cancel their subscriptions at any time without any lock-ins. The plugin seamlessly integrates with the existing WooCommerce framework, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free user experience.
To further optimize the checkout process, I developed a React-powered checkout component that integrates with the WooCommerce checkout. This custom checkout provides a streamlined and intuitive interface, guiding users through the subscription process step by step. By leveraging React's component-based architecture and state management capabilities, I created a highly interactive and responsive checkout experience that improves user engagement and reduces cart abandonment.
The website incorporates various plugins and tools to enhance its functionality and performance. Advanced Custom Fields is used to extend the content management capabilities of WordPress, allowing for flexible and dynamic content creation. MailChimp for WooCommerce enables seamless integration with email marketing campaigns, ensuring effective communication with subscribers. Elementor is utilized as the page builder, providing a drag-and-drop interface for creating visually appealing and responsive layouts.
To ensure optimal website performance and reliability, FED Group is hosted on Cloudways, a managed cloud hosting platform. Cloudways provides a scalable and secure infrastructure, with built-in caching and performance optimization features. Additionally, Cloudflare Enterprise is employed as the content delivery network (CDN), ensuring fast load times and enhanced security through features like bot management and DDoS protection.
The website also incorporates advanced analytics and tracking tools, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and Hotjar, to gain valuable insights into user behavior and optimize the user experience. PixelYourSite is used to manage and deploy these tracking pixels effectively.
Throughout the development process, I utilized a range of front-end technologies and libraries, including styled-components, Emotion, React, Marionette.js, Backbone.js, and toastr, to create a dynamic and interactive user interface. The back-end is powered by PHP and MySQL, with Nginx serving as the web server.
To ensure a SEO-friendly website, I implemented Yoast SEO, a comprehensive WordPress SEO plugin that optimizes the site's content and structure for improved search engine visibility.
