A common and and annoying issue I and many others have encountered is text displaying vertically in a post archive in the WordPress dashboard.
Although this issue may look difficult to fix, it’s actually caused by too many columns being displayed. The solution is simple.
Simply complete the following steps:
Screen options
Do you see a “Screen Options” dropdown box at the top right of the screen? Click that.
Remove columns
Untick any of the columns/fields that you do not need to see.
Continue until all looks good
You will see the vertical text start to resolve as you remove columns. Remove all columns you can until you are not seeing any more of the vertical text.
